I am an Italian fashion designer with a passion for cooking, my husband Daniel is a Hypnotherapist and English teacher with the same passion! Different backgrounds and different paths led us both to Hong Kong.
Where it all started?
In the kitchen of course!
Our shared love of great home-cooked food connected us from the very first day. From that moment on we combined our knowledge, passion and effort and have hosted many fabulous dinners and BBQs with our friends.
We think it's about time we share some of this passion with the PlateCluture foodies!
Daniel and Marzia were wonderful hosts with a genuine love of Italian cuisine! All the details of the meal were carefully planned and executed. Fantastic! Food was stellar, hosts friendly and we are already planning our second visit and letting our friends know about this gem in The Bay! Thanks for sharing your passion and culinary skills! We loved it! ❤️ So nice to meet you before we leave HK!
Daniel & Marzia's home is lovely! The rooftop had beautiful views and was a perfect spot to have our appetizers and drinks.
The food was absolutely delicious! Homemade bread, homemade hummus & tzatziki, cold cuts (from Italy!) and bruschetta were all a perfect start to our dining experience. For our main course, we had fettuccini carbonara; homemade pasta of course, was fantastic. The end to our meal was some delightful tiramisu and limoncello.
Daniel & Marzia outdid themselves on the menu. My friends and I were impressed that everything was homemade! We had a wonderful time and definitely plan to come back.
We loved our meal at D and M's. The feeling of sitting on their rooftop over looking the bay in complete privacy is spectacular. There are kayaks for rent in the bay so it makes a perfect post-day out meal! After sunset, the rooftop is really romantic with little paraffin lamps and music playing. I loved trying the Venetian Spritz Aperol, direct from Italy, with the starters. We had freshly baked bread and a variety of dips and charcuterie meats. Between courses, it was great learning more about how the food is made, the local practises of Italy's food culture, and the fusion of these that occur in D and M's kitchen. The main course was a perfect home made ravioli in a warm, rich tomato based sauce. I found the portions really generous too. Desert was a Tiramisu which M asked for feedback on as she is testing out a range of her favourite deserts. Their suggested wine pairings worked really well with the meal. The hosts are outgoing, easy going and really down to earth with lots of wonderful stories to share.
Dan and Marzia are great hosts. The house is located in gorgeous area where you can escape from Hong Kong's city life. We had dining on their cute rooftop with a great view. They entertained us with their cultural foods and beverage. D&M place has a great vibe and I would recommend it to anyone!
Marzia and Daniel prepared a lovely dinner on their Rooftop facing the sea. Delicate 'crudites' and home-baked bread dipped into hummus, blue cheese dip and other sauces accompanied by refreshing Spritz Aperol seeing the sunset.
After the starters, we had homemade ricotta and spinach ravioli and some cold cuts with some wine.
We really enjoyed the cosy environment at their rooftop and great conversation about our common love for food and travels.
We will repeat for sure, unforgettable experience!
