Eat & Meet - Best of Indian Cuisine

About the kitchen

Cuisine Type: Indian. I will be showcasing my mother's excellent cooking. Lovely, fresh, home cooked Indian food would be the order of the day. My mother's specialty includes Briyani (especially her shrimp Briyani), her spiced fried chicken, shrimp and fish cutlets and many more! Knowing my mother, she won't be at peace until you are stuffed to the brim and rolling out of our home. You can expect a starter, a few main dishes compromising of rice, vegetable, meats and seafood and a dessert. I will also have a few signature cocktails if you would like to order a little fun on the side of your meal (Cocktails are not included to the meal price. You can pay for your drinks at the dinner).

My relationship with food started when I was a wee little one. With a dad from Penang (food heaven!) and a mum passionate about cooking, we are definitely a family that truly loves our food. My first venture into the kitchen happened when I was 12 years old, my first Food Technology class. A complete failure it was since I couldn't even peel an apple, let alone make apple pie! Fast forward a few months, I started enjoying cooking and since then, food has becoming a fierce passion of mine. My favorite cooking memory- cooking a Deepavali meal for 20 people while living in Germany at the age of 16 (and being so ambitious by cooking 9 Indian dishes from scratch!) I believe there is nothing like delicious food to bring people together, honestly, it could be the answer to world peace!

Delicious seems to be an understatement to Mrs.Nagalingams homecooked food. I'm still thinking about the curry prawns and blackcurrant trifile the day after the dinner. What's more amazing than the food is the family's hospitality. The Nagalingams oozes a kind of warmth that makes you feels right at home, something that regular restaurants cannot offer. Remember to go hungry!
