Born and raised in the Philippines, and at a young age, moved around the world with expat parents. That gave me the opportunity and the chance to see different cultures and food.
Having worked in six different countries, studied in one of the top culinary universities in Europe, Die Landesberufsschule Bad Überkingen (Paul- Kerschensteiner-Schule) in Germany, that has also widen my understanding, my knowledge and developed my skills to almost perfecting my fusion of Western and Asian Cuisine.
I have been living in Hong Kong for two years now, and during my lighter days, I go mountain biking and hiking, which I do love most, aside from cooking.
I have this dream of opening up my own EAT (East Asian Taste) fusion restaurant, someday. We had a nice dinner at Chef Al' s private kitchen last Sat., who is young yet experienced, easy going, and generously shared his cooking tips. The fusion starter was delicious, pork fillet was wonderfully cooked, tender and juicy, and the cheese cake was creamy and not so sweet, which was pretty much to my like, and I especially liked those winter berries on top. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends.
Aldian was a wonderful host! The food was delicious, especially the pork and the mashed potatoes. The homemade bread was a perfect start to the meal, and the blueberry cheesecake was the perfect ending! The red wine and prosecco during the meal complimented the meal. I would definitely suggest having a meal at Aldian's house.
The food was sensational, warm ambiance and lovely hosts! We went to Al's to celebrate my husband's birthday and 7 of us had the best time ever. A warm welcome, we loved every course of the meal and even the live piano music! Definitely a night to remember, we are huge fans and will definitely be back. Finally a fine private dining option in the New Territories!
Passionate and experienced cook. The food was seasonal and he made it into something you longed for. He knows exactly how to satisfy your stomach. The food looked appetising and once you starting eating, you'll only want more. Highly recommended. Definitely would come back again for more.
Had a lovely time and really enjoyed Chef Al's melding of flavours and textures. Presentation and explanation of each course was clear, showcased nicely and very impressive. We could see the size of the kitchen that Al was working with, and it was a surprise and a delight to see what he was able to create for our enjoyment that evening. Would highly recommend for anyone, but especially if you are in the New Territories area.
The service and ambience was warm and cozy. The appetizer was great teaser on my palate. Everything on that plate complemented every taste and texture. The pork was perfectly done and the blueberry cheesecake was Devine. It was truly a pleasurable experience. The quality of food is A+
What you can experience in Al's Kitchen is a delicious concoction of simple and finest ingredients available in the market. What is so amazing is, he can transform a humble ingredient into something spectacular that you can never imagine would work and the best part of it is it lingers in your mouth and craves for more. This young chef creates food with passion, innovation and creativity! Very timely in these ever changing global culture.
