I am from Mumbai (India) and have been working in HK for the past nine years. I love the energy of Hong Kong, and it keeps me going every day.
Both my wife and I are passionate about food and enjoy gatherings at home with friends and cooking up authentic Indian dishes twisting them a bit. I have two boys aged 7 and 5 who share our passion for good food.
If you are looking to taste authentic Indian food, we would love to welcome you to our home.
Looking forward to celebrating the festival of spices together.
It was our first plate culture experience. Girl and Sarika are a great host. Loved the food, it was delicious, enjoyed every bite of it from starter to dessert. We tried the Mumbai street food and it was authentic and yummy. The portion is generous and well presented. Very clean and hygienic. We are vegetarian with strict food diet, Giri took utmost care of our requirements which was really impressive. He went out of his way to make sure he could match our requirements. We strongly recommend his delicious food and will come back again! Thanks Giri and Sarika.
We had a fantastic meal with Giri and his lovely family. The food was fantastic and the company was great. The portions were large too. We chose the seafood menu which was new to us. Most of the Indian food we eat is from the North so to eat the Southern Indian cuisine was great! :)
SCRUMPTIOUS, DELICIOUS, FINGER LIKING YUMMY FOOD!
Not only was the food one of the best Indian cuisine we have ever tasted, but Giri is the host with the most.
He welcomed us like we knew we were friends from a long date. His wife and children were delightful to be around too.
Giri was extremely accommodating with our expectations and our palate. His communication skills are excellent: he was quick to respond to all our questions and demands!!!
We had a awesome night and would recommend Giri's plate culture experience in a heart beat.
THANK YOU GIRI, you rock!
Loved the curries and briyani! Incredibly tasty, beats eating out at any Indian restaurant. The chai tea was a great ending to our dinner. Giri and his family were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back for more of that spice. Thanks very much Giri!
My husband and I had a great experience at Chef Giris. Really authentic Indian that we just can't find anywhere else in HK. Reached out to Giri beforehand about getting a specific chicken curry dish (I love spicy curry and wanted to make sure it wasn't played down) and not only did he accommodate but it was on point with the spice! Had a lovely time chatting with Giri & his wife, and learned more about Indian food than we ever have at any restaurant. Would highly recommend for anyone and we will be going back.
Best Indian food we tried. Once stepped in Chief Giri's home, I felt really hungry because of the great curry aroma. I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic meal from starter to tea. Chief Giri and the family were very welcoming and it was a surprisingly wonderful dining experience.
Great authentic food with a good variety of dishes.
We joined Giri tonight with 2 other guests which made the nights experience not only about the food but also about meeting new people.
Highly recommend the Giri experience to all.

My friends and I had a fantastic experience at Giri's place.
The six of us shared two generously sized starters: clam masala and chicken tikka. For the main, we had a lamb shank curry and coastal curry with pomfret, served with rice and dousa. Pickled mango, condiments, cucumber yoghurt and a coastal drink (I am going to keep this as a surprise for you) were also served during the meal. The dishes were all fantastic and very unique to any of the indian meals I have ever had in Hong Kong.
Before each course, Giri kindly explained each dishes and suggested how they could go with the sauce / condiments. After the meal, we were served very nice masala chai and enjoyed a very special bollywood dance by eagerly put up by the two cute boys of Giri. We enjoyed conversations with Giri, his wife and the boys, who were all very welcoming and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Lastly, I must say Giri was very accommodating at food preferences. Communicating with him prior to the dinner was a breeze. I would highly recommend anyone to try Giri's cuisine and will be back for the bollywood street food.
Me and my wife had an awsumm experience at Giri's place and would recommend all the foodies to try out the exquisite food coupled with great hospitality which makes a complete experience.
I had the butter chicken biriyani which was a unique and super special dish . I have had biriyani and butter chicken before but Giri experimented by combining these two to produce a gem. To top it was a traditional sol kaddi which had a different tadka.
We will surely visit back for the sea food soon. All the best Giri for future, keep rocking.
I'm happy to meet Giri. Giri and his family are friendly and his little boys are so cute :)
Tonight's menu are
1. Paav Bhaji
2. Lamb Stew with Rice
4. Roasted Chicken
I like all food what prepared tonight, it's perfect that it ended up with Indian ginger tea, I love it so much. I 'll come again after Giri come back HK in August! Thanks for cooking :)
Jenny and I went to Giri's home on 9th July 2016 for the Biryani Special (Bombay Chicken). The place had a very homely feeling, something I have missed whilst in Hong Kong, and the views from the living room were amazing. Giri and his wife are very friendly and felt like my close uncle and auntie, with 2 very handsome boys.
Giri is also very knowledgeable about his food, and explained how each part of the cuisine comes together to form the perfect combination. The meal is extremely valued for money, and would be perfect for small groups who want to try good Indian food!
