  1. About

I always loved cooking since school days. I use to go for competition since I was doing domestic science. Represented school and won a trophy too. I am a person who likes to try out dishes that I have eaten outside until I get it right. I am adventurous and love travelling. Three pillars of my everyday life are praying, family and food.

After booking you will receive detailed advice on how to navigate to the chef's house

It is truly hard to find appropriate words to describe the magnificence of the Indian lunch we had. I felt completely overwhelmed with the attention and care of the hosts. I would definitely say PlateCulture is about experiencing the local cuisine, not just tasting it. Absolutely impressive and worth trying it.

While the food was really authentic and excellent, I think the other half of the experience is really the great time we had chatting with Kala & Guna, learning more about their lives and culture over the dining table, and also getting some food recommendations from Guna! They have a lovely house which they welcomed us in with open arms. (I think Wendy also managed to pick up some tips on Indian cooking from Kala, heh)

My friend and I shared wonderful light moments with Kala and her husband, in talking and dining. Kala is a great host, and although we just stepped out the plane in Malaysia for less than 2 hours, we felt home immediately and we where overwhelmed by the great hospitality of Kala and her husband. Kala´s food is an art and gift at the same time. The food is great and healthy - what we loved and highly appreciated. Kala is - among other skills - gifted to make "healthy food in a delicious way" and "delicious in a food healthy way". Thank you so much Kala!
