About the kitchen

Kennel Kitchen is the home of a true foodie home chef and animal lover. Your host is Chef Chris (me) along with my friendly furry assistants (two dogs and two cats) and my wife who is also a foodie.

You will be welcomed into our cozy typical Hong Kong apartment home where you will be served classic comfort dishes with fresh seasonal produces from the local wet markets, filled with rich flavours. I will be joining you from my open kitchen where we can 'talk and share' food along with a few laughs!

**IMPORTANT TO NOTE**

(1) Due to preparation, please contact us two days in advance for reservations.

(2) We have friendly DOGS and CATS hosts in the house, so PLEASE make sure none of your guests are allergic to or afraid of pets!!

(3) I will be preparing the menu based on the "catch of the day", but you can also make special requests and I'm happy to cater for any special dietary needs.

(4) It's free corkage. You are also welcome to BYOB, just let me know if we need to prepare some extra ice for white/sparkling wine :)

Thank you for your interest!

My girlfriend and I haven't been back to Kennel Kitchen in over a year, and as good as it was then, the improvements with Chris' cooking, particularly his plating and attention to detail, have been remarkable.

We went with the seafood menu, and before we started Chris gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. The first dish was Kumamoto 2 ways, raw garnishing and rockafeller. My girlfriend who generally hates baked oysters loved this, as everything one top was perfect without over cooking the oyster. The beef tar tar, which I've had before, was so much better this time, and just beautifully presented. Then we got a scallop and cream sauce dish, which was by far my favourite dish of the night. Perfectly seared scallops on a bed of finely cut mushrooms and herbs, and a thin and crispy parmesan chip. Then there was a homemade uni pasta, with some caviar garnishing. Initially I thought this dish would be too heavy, but the lightness of the homemade pasta was the real highlight, complimenting the other heavier and sweeter ingredients. The last main dish was a nice poached and smoked lobster with some kale chips, which was a great way to end the main meal.

I've said this before, but I can't recommend this place enough. And I didn't even mention getting to play with all the great furry friends Chris has on hand. Definitely coming back with a few more friends soon

I have had 5 plate culture experiences so far, while I have enjoyed every host's company and every play culture experience, I can't stress enough how Chris' food and hospitality is outstanding/ top notch. He is casual , unpretentious and amicable, made us felt right at home at his home while managed to maintain his professionalism. his food is Michelin star level. It's the definition of five star fine dining served in a warm home. And don't get me started on his fur babies. The material he cooks with is of highest standard, he is a rare gem, really no need to look further on plate culture.

Fantastic experience! Food was absolutely delicious and good value for the money. Chris was very communicative prior to booking and easy to talk to throughout dinner. The apartment was very neat and well decorated with love. Extra bonus to the fluffs adding a cozy homey touch to this dinner. We will definitely come back!!!

First-time experience with Plate Culture! Just love it! Chef Chris is a great chef with cooking skills that beat at least 50% of the western restaurant in HK! We had a wonderful time at his apt with his dogs! Highly recommended!

A cosy setting and a super host with fantastic furry friends. Meal was made with a lot of preparation and passion. A very enjoyable night with friends and a delightful gourmet experience!

What impressed me most about Chris is his passion and fire for the preparation of food. For someone without much professional experience as a chef, I'd say he has done really well - from the taste, presentation and knowledge in the food he is cooking. Chris is also very friendly and easy to talk to.

As for his furry friends, to me it is a big plus as I love animals. His 2 cats and 2 dogs assisted Chris with the greeting and entertaining of the guests which is really cute.

The only down side is probably the amount of calories and cholesterol I might have downed in one meal.

I highly recommend it and would definitely go again.

Chef Chris' dishes were all very innovative with high complexity of flavours. My favourite dish was the sea urchin pasta and I can honestly say the quality of his dishes are much better than many so called "high end" restaurants in HK. It is rare to see someone who puts so much passion and pride into what they do. I am already looking to book my next dinner there! His friendly pets were an added bonus to the overall experience! (My only tip would be to not wear black so you can play with the cuties without getting their fur stuck on you:))

This is my second visit to Kennel Kitchen. I have been expecting it since I made the booking a month ago. And Chris can always surprise his guests with some awesome food.
