A small farm boy from South Africa who moved to the big city and fell in love. Been living in HK for three and a half years as an English teacher. Passionate about the outdoors and can be found most weekends exploring the green hills of Hong Kong. Cooking is my true passion, it all started at university, a lazy student with a BBC food addiction managed to scrape through university while scraping his plate clean every day. One day I aim to be feeding my food to people from all over the world. Tans and I love meeting new people and exploring anything new! A love for travel has kept us from home so we decided to create our own home right here in the big city, we would love you to come and see it.

Warwick and Tanz are amazing, amazing hosts. The short walk-up is a little unexpected - not particularly exciting if you've just walked up the hilly slope to the apartment building - but the moment we set eyes on the ethereal fairy lights hanging over their rooftop, we just know we are in for a good time. Their quaint rooftop is the perfect setting for good food with new friends. We particularly love how the dinner is at a relaxing pace with lots of conversation in between meals that is very unlike the all too familiar HK-style overly efficient meals where your plates are cleared - and probably cleaned - before you could chew on that last morsel.

We particularly love the dukkah crusted rack of lamb. Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside and comes with a side of zesty cauliflower couscous to stop us from feeling too guilty about the moreish lamb that we have just devoured. Just as we are feeling proud of ourselves for eating up 2 of our 5 a day, Warwick and Tanz bring out the indulgent finale - a scandalous semifreddo so naughty we are sure we will not be hearing Santa's sleigh bells ring this Christmas. But isn't that how all the good stories start?

My friends and I had a wonderful evening. We expected the food to be good going in (had researched reviews and the photos on Instagram - and all looked fantastic!) but it was even better than we expected! Really, the dynamic duo should do this full time because what we had was truly delicious! Well done MrEandMissT!

My first time trying Plateculture and it was fantastic! Great rooftop terrace, and the hosts were so friendly and easy going. And of course the food was perfect! I would much rather do another dining night with MrEandMissT than go to central for overpriced food. When in doubt, just book this and try their amazing dishes and enjoy the hospitality

What a wonderful dining experience hosted by Warwick and Tansy. The use of ingredients was on point and the food was so flavourful and plated beautifully. We lost track of time from having such a great time chatting with the hosts, who have been nothing short of warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Warwick is a real chef to say the least!! The dishes were high end restaurant quality in a gorgeous and relaxed rooftop setting with lovely people! There was a lot of details and thought put into each dish, we thoroughly enjoyed the each bite!

I was surprised by the dishes especially the lovely starters! It's the first time to have meal with chef. I have another kind of experience on it due to the brief introduction of the dish before having it.

It's a really culture exchange and happy night.

nice people, nice place, nice food, nice atmosphere^^

Warwick and Tans are both naturally accommodating. They own the warmest hearts that reflect on the way they set up their house, their plating and most of to the entrees. It's easy to say that we had a great time but to describe the experience deserves more than that. They guide you into the imagination of the chef as he (Warwick) talks about what you'd expect of each entrees but right when you are about to savour it in your mouth, the robust flavours of each ingredient brings you into a different dimension where the right word for its goodness has never been created.

i chose Mint as the 1st place to go for my plate culture experience and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! It was seriously one of my favourite dining experience in HK. The rooftop setup was beautiful and Warwick cooks much better than most of the restaurants in soho. The quality of the food was definitely value for money. You can tell Warwick spends a lot of time, love and patient onto the food! Very detail oriented. As a huge foodie in HK who admits she has very high standard for restaurants I think Mint exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend this place to anyone anytime.

Warwick and Tans were wonderful hosts. We had a lovely evening on their roof top drinking wine, sharing stories and eating three amazing courses. Warwick is a fantastic chef and would recommend him to anyone looking for fine food in a great, rustic setting on the roof tops.

Excellent experience. We enjoy the food, atmosphere and especially the host couples' presence. They are very friendly and welcoming. My husband was glad that we had a chance to experience S Africa without really visiting the place. Food was great with nice decoration and the setting was elegant too. Would love to visit again and highly recommend.

It was indeed an escape from the hustle and bustle of busy city life to Warwick’s hideaway by the Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road. The use of space and tasteful home decorations made us feel very comfortable and relaxed, just like visiting the home of old friends. It was spacious, stylish, cozy and serene, with plants and flowers everywhere we looked. Warwick and Tans were charming hosts. They were genuinely friendly, warm and easy-going. The enthusiastic chef obviously put a lot of tender loving care into the food. Each course was prepared with ease and served efficiently. The presentation was simple but inviting. The main course was Australian Baby Rack of Lamb, coated with Dijon mustard, which not only gave it flavor but also preserved moisture in the meat, then topped with herbs and parmesan cheese. What a nice touch to serve them on individual wooden boards, amidst a Vietnamese Rainbow Salad of carrots, shallots, baby cabbage, and handpicked parsley and mint from Warwick’s garden! And to finish, there was a light creamy strawberry cheesecake and gourmet Vietnamese coffee. From start to finish, each dish was naturally good, healthy and delicious. The ingredients complemented each other well and enhanced their natural flavors. Not only the cooking but the décor and ambience seemed effortless and unpretentious. Warwick and Tans seemed to have brought in sunshine and a piece of their homeland South Africa to Hong Kong. It was under this light which led us to appreciate the food even though it was generally lighter tasting than what my friend and I are used to. It is often hot and humid in Hong Kong but that spring evening was the perfect weather for alfresco dining. A terrace garden lined with lights, candlelight and wooden crates as dining table. Unlike in restaurants, we were not hurried into each course but had the time to savour the food, chat for a while and sip some wine in between courses. Warwick was very kind to share with us a bottle of Bordeaux which was a good match with the dishes. They were the perfect hosts who could surely make their guests feel right at home.
