A small farm boy from South Africa who moved to the big city and fell in love. Been living in HK for three and a half years as an English teacher. Passionate about the outdoors and can be found most weekends exploring the green hills of Hong Kong. Cooking is my true passion, it all started at university, a lazy student with a BBC food addiction managed to scrape through university while scraping his plate clean every day. One day I aim to be feeding my food to people from all over the world. Tans and I love meeting new people and exploring anything new! A love for travel has kept us from home so we decided to create our own home right here in the big city, we would love you to come and see it.
We had a fantastic evening at MrE&MissT's and will definitely be going back. The hosts were so friendly and fun, the food not only tasted exquisite, but the plating was beautiful too. Each meal was explained in detail once placed on the tables. Rooftop, candles. flowers, gorgeous food and amazing hosts. Definitely try them out!
Incredible experience with Chef Warwick and beautiful Tanzy. We had such a lovely time. It was a very special occasion and Warwick with his outstanding hospitality made this a perfect night for us. The food was super delicious and the awesome cheesecake was something to die for. I would highly recommend this experience with Chef Warwick. I am sure to be back again and ensure we have many more celebrations here.
Warwick and Tarns were very friendly and accommodating hosts! We had a large group of 10 and we were amazed at the great quality food the two of them prepared for our large group. Planning was easy with them working with 1 vegetarian and 1 gluten free guest and we had a fun night on their roof top. Nothing was too much trouble for them and overall we had a fun night with good food!
I was pleasantly surprised by my first PlateCulture experience at MrE&MissT's. Dinner was held at a beautiful rooftop terrace which really is a luxury in Hong Kong. The setting was nicely done and the atmosphere is relaxing. Warwick and Tansy were extremely friendly and spent a lot of time with us talking about food, travelling, etc which was really nice, sometimes you learn more by talking to people with different cultural backgrounds! I don't know how they do it as they managed to prepare a delicious meal and kept us very much entertained! It was a brilliant experience, thank you guys! :)
Thanks Warwick for an amazing dining experience. Its what i needed after strenuous days in HK.
The food was simply delicious, it was Truly East Met West in Warwick Style!. The company was amazing under the star dining experience reaching the skylights of HK. Warwick's place, the place to be when you are in HK!
We have enjoyed all the evening from the beginning till the end 100 percent! We have just landed in Hong Kong and went straight for terrace dinner. The feeling is surreal in a best way. Such a lovely hosts, amazing fusion dishes and all this is served on a terrace surrounded by the highest sky-scrapers. This was an amazing start to fall in love with Hong Kong social dining scene again and again!
Everything was thoughtfully prepared - the table was set beautifully, dishes were as pretty as they were delicious - very friendly hosts and many nice little details that make for a great experience.
We started with a fun interactive sushi roll making where we made our own delicious rolls (some better than others ;-) followed by a delicious grilled lamb with beetroot purée and other delicious things - ending with homemade gelato with honeycomb, caramel and churros that had everyone licking their plates.
we'll recommend MrWandMissT to anyone and definitely be back for more soon!
Date of Dinner: 1 May 2016, Sunday. I was in HKG for a short holiday and wanted to have dinner w my group of 10 friends. We have experienced dining out in restaurants multiple times and it was always missing a tinge of cosiness. Heard about plate culture, decided to give it a try. Loaded the app, read the reviews of MrEandMissT. The reviews they had were great and made me want to have the dinner at their place. Besides being fantastic cooks (as the pictures speak for themselves), they were great hosts! Very friendly, energetic, accommodating and never too intrusive. They were very focused on making sure they served us well, and we had a FANTABULOUS TIME! The roof terrace of their place sat 11 of us comfortably in a square table. That makes chatting easy! We had baked camembert cheese as starter, steak as the main and honeycomb churros gelato as our dessert! SUPERB!! We will be back :D
Mr.E & Ms.T was my first Plateculture experience. I carefully checked the review before I booked just to make sure my first experience would be good. And it was GREAT. The rooftop setting was such an escape in the middle of busy Soho. Food was beautifully plated and delicious. The yummy cheese cake was so good I had to ask for the recipe immediately. The hosts were very welcoming, we had some great conversation. Highly recommend booking with them! I will be back next month with my inlaws :-)
The experience at Tansy and Warwick's place was truly unique. I had heard good things, but as many other have said, it was even better than expected. The first thing that surprised me was how beautiful the roof set up was. A gorgeous table setting with fairy lights and an array of plants made the rooftop cosy and welcoming. The food was also surprising and genuinely much better than many expensive western restaurants I have been to in Hong Kong. We had scallops and pea puree for starters, chicken ballotine stuffed with spinach, pine nuts and pomegranate for mains, and for our surprise dessert chocolate lava cake with homemade ice-cream (the texture was just amazing). Literally every bite was delicious and beautifully plated. Combined with the relaxed and warm atmosphere provided by Tansy and Warwick, it proved to be a night to remember. I would highly recommend it!
Unexpected rain moved everyone indoors, but Warwick and Tansy handled it with aplomb. The meal was excellent, and the main course got us in the festive mood-stuffed chicken, mushroom filo, and tomato with basil. The rich dessert capped a special evening shared with our fellow diners and hosts. We would love to come back any time, even if it's just for the company.
This is a fantastic dining experience in Warwick and Tan's house! Warwick is passionate on cooking ant all dishes looks good and very tasty. Thanks for the warm hospitality, I and my friends had so much fun last night.
Would definitely recommend people to try it and we will also come back again! Looking forward for your new menu!
Warwick and Tanz are amazing, amazing hosts. The short walk-up is a little unexpected - not particularly exciting if you've just walked up the hilly slope to the apartment building - but the moment we set eyes on the ethereal fairy lights hanging over their rooftop, we just know we are in for a good time. Their quaint rooftop is the perfect setting for good food with new friends. We particularly love how the dinner is at a relaxing pace with lots of conversation in between meals that is very unlike the all too familiar HK-style overly efficient meals where your plates are cleared - and probably cleaned - before you could chew on that last morsel.
We particularly love the dukkah crusted rack of lamb. Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside and comes with a side of zesty cauliflower couscous to stop us from feeling too guilty about the moreish lamb that we have just devoured. Just as we are feeling proud of ourselves for eating up 2 of our 5 a day, Warwick and Tanz bring out the indulgent finale - a scandalous semifreddo so naughty we are sure we will not be hearing Santa's sleigh bells ring this Christmas. But isn't that how all the good stories start?
