Rose’s love for cooking authentic dishes from scratch became a passion. She realised there is no shortcut and her labour of love in the preparation of food receives accolades.

Rose invites you to have the first bite because she knows that it will lead to another bite and until the last bite, you will not be able to stop. Her Teochew dishes have no peers because the recipes have been passed down through generations.

Chef Rose ‘s culinary skills do encompass a popular Malaysian dish from the Northern State of Malaysia. Just with one bite it will leave a lasting taste in your mouth. It is succulent and juicy. As she is extremely health conscious and taste sensitive, she only uses natural ingredients and authentic flavourings, boiling her bone’s stock to make the gravy.

    Happily married with four children, Rose certainly knows that a delectable meal keeps people around the table happy and contented. Rose's meals are not just delicious, they are addictive."One bite" triggers the desire to want the full food experience.

    The meals represent the "melting pot" characteristics of the Malaysian cuisine but at the same time, she makes the authentic versions of recipe when the tastes are not compromised.

    Rose selects every ingredient  lovingly and prepares the dish with utmost dedication and "viola"  Words cannot do justice. You have to take at least one bite to relish Rose's cooking."

I had the privilege to dine at One Last Byte on Malaysia's Independence Day - 31st August 2016. Though I've not met her before, she immediately welcomed me with a warm smile and made me feel extremely comfortable in her lovely home. Her home is amazingly Zen with all the little pretty touches and decorations she had hand-made all by herself. She will proudly and most willingly explain every single detail if you are into arts and crafts. I felt really enchanted in her old but well kept memories of her kids painting, reminded me of my parents. Then food came, course by course. The first impression was set high by a starter jack fruit salad! It was so succulent and fresh, I think I helped myself with 3 servings! She also made a very special dip which she served with bread, and as a dip lover, I felt for it as well! Then came the most lip-smacking main dish- her Teo Chiew authentic plate! Her duck was braised and caramelized to perfection! I am really not a fan of duck meat, but I tried and it was very good. The best part about her food creation is that, everything is made from scratch and you can tell it is very authentic. She is a passionate cook and her husband helps her around in the kitchen and kept us company all the time. They both are really welcoming and anyone would enjoy their hospitality and company. Finally we had her beautifully created dessert served with a scoop of ice-cream, and her ending herbal drink. It was just the perfect sweet-ending. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal. It was one of the best home cooked meals I've ever had recently, and I would definitely want to visit Aunty Rose again very soon!
