*NEW: COOKING CLASS*

After many requests, we decide to open semi-private cooking class.
The class has flexible timing and menu, with maximum 3 students. Message me for more details!

*************

If you've only tried Indonesian food in restaurants or haven't even heard of it before, now is a good chance to experience authentic Indonesian dishes just as we taste them back home.

THE MENU

Indonesia's capital city, Jakarta, and most renowned tourism spot, Bali, are not all there is to the country. As a nation made up of thousands of volcanic islands and home to hundreds of ethnic groups each with its own culinary specialties, your choice of menu is practically endless!

. Nasi Tumpeng is a philosophically rich menu, traditionally meant to mark the special occasions of your life, such as birthdays, graduations, new years and anniversaries. Each part of the Tumpeng holds its own meaning which will be explained by Paola. Due to its complexity we can only cater this menu for a group of 4 people or more.
. The Tropical Degustation Menu will tickle your taste buds with a rotation of sweet, savoury and spicy dishes most sought after throughout Java.
. The Notoboyo Family's Menu is an inherited secret recipes from Paola family's who originated from Central Java.
. The Vegetarian Menu is offering the healthiest offerings of my family's yummy recipes

We plan to bring dishes from other areas in Indonesia in the future so keep checking our page to see what's on!

Our evening with Warung was amazing! The food was fantastic, the rooftop was intimate and had an amazing view and Paola our chef was just lovely.

Paola was a great host and her rooftop terrace is just amazing! We had a great time!

Great food and great company! We love the sea view balcony at Paola's place! It's very lovely decorated, and the food is amazing, can be customised to vegetarian friendly too! Highly recommended.

Paola is a friendly host who communicates well and shares lots of useful tips. Good to have the flexibility to choose what to cook and the dishes are yummy!

Great roof top view over the water. Paola is very nice... While the food was authentic and tasty.. I thought it was too expensive. I think for the $549 degustation we were expecting many small items for tasting and a lot more...

Reply from Paola C.:  Hi Julie, We actually cook a total of 12 recipes in one seating for the Tropical Degustation menu, with generous portions. Maybe it seems less because we bring 7 at the same time during main course, because traditionally Indonesian put everything together in the same plate (most Asian culture do this). A lot of our clients told us there's so much food they can barely finish the dessert and some bring lunch boxes to take away leftovers (we encourage it to avoid food waste). I'm sorry you have less than stellar experience this time and I look forward to creating better experience for you and other guest next time Sincerely, Paola

LOVED our dinner. So nice to be al fresco in HK with a gorgeous sliver of moon shining down on us! My first plate culture experience and the food was FABULOUS-will definitely come back and am eager to try more.

The setting on the roof was impressive especially for our out-of-town guests. The food was good and we should've brought Tupperware to bring home the rest as Paola suggested. We had four people one being vegetarian and Paola was very accommodating for the vegetarian. She didn't bother us during the dinner but it was good of her to sit down with us for a few minutes at the end to introduce herself and her work. It was nice to get to know Paula and her work with zero waste businesses. She explained that her shopping is done with very little wasted that any leftover food that we don't bring home, she composts, which we appreciate. Overall it was a very good experience. Thank you!

What a great experience! The cooking class is really inspiring and I get to learn a lot about local Indonesian home cooking (instead of boring fried chicken wrapped in banana leaves and satay). Paola definitely is a good teacher. Her recipes are easy to follow yet taste really authentic! And nice ambiance eating on the rooftop (me and my friends are particularly fascinated by her little herb garden. Most important of all, my Frenchie gets to enjoy the lunch with us!!!!

Unique rooftop dining experience in the heart of K Town. Adam and Paola were great hosts who made sure it's both a culinary and social experience.

Best Indonesian food I have ever eaten.
Authentic, home cooked delicious meal.

Fun evening with Hosts (Paolo and Adam)

We had 4 course vegetarian option and every meal carried great balance and blend of different flavours.

Moreover Paolo is a strong "Zero Waste" believer which is an amazing initiative! Kudos to her

Will definitely visit them soon to explore different menus!

Thank for authentic and great Indonesian evening :)

Paola and Adam are amazing hosts.

3 of us went first for cooking lessons and then the other 4 joined us for the lunch. I was so impressed with how organised and well prepared Paola was. The flavours of the food were also very fragrant and welcoming. Because Paola pays a lot of attention to quality produce, I felt that even the food was very healthy and nutritious.

My friends and I were looking for something different to do to celebrate my birthday this year, and stumbled across Adam and Paola's listing on PlateCulture. it sounded perfect for a group who had varied dietary restrictions (one vegetarian, one gluten-/dairy- free) and had been craving Indonesian food. Communication was seamless -- I had made the booking inquiry weeks in advance, and Paola was able to tailor the Nasi Tumpeng (Birthday Menu) for our needs. When we got there, we were shown upstairs to the private rooftop that they'd set up for us. There was a Bluetooth speaker so we could play our own music, and we were welcome to bring our own alcoholic beverages, which Adam and Paola kept cool for us downstairs. Other than using the bathroom (in their apartment downstairs), it felt like we had our own private venue, and were able to relax and unwind for the duration of our meal. Paola brought up the dishes as they were ready and explained the background behind the meal, as well as the ingredients, and some traditions that came with each of the dishes. A truly authentic dining experience, and I would be happy to recommend them to anyone who enjoys good food! Will be back!

Wonderful experience high up in Kennedy town. The view, the hospitality and food were excellent. Highly recommended.

We were a bench of 6 friends and wanted to try a veggie and 0 waste experience. More than that the rooftop was very comfortable with a beautiful view. The table is well decorated with candles and you can add your music. The best of it is the indo dishes. There were all yunmies and nice to discover. Each dish was very different and tasty and felt so fresh. It was not so spicy as the chilly was on a separate plate. As well you very feel you are at the restaurant as you dont see Paola except when she was bringing dishes and explained to us each meal. Great deal to try ;) thank you Paola.
